(MEL) is a concern of the AP group of Companies, a household name in Bangladesh for the manufacturing and marketing of herbal medicines, processed foods and herbal cosmetics, since 1948. The company has also diversified into plastics for the in house supply of containers; it has set up Triumph Engineering Ltd., Marketing industrial boilers for Mechmar Cochran Boilers (M), Malaysia.We have our offices in various parts of the world, some of our office locations are:Malaysia, UAE and Canada.

Founder –

A. F. M. Fakhrul Islam Munshi

Even though Fakhrul Islam Munshi started his career as a businessman, establishing several very successful business in the fields of alternative medicine, ready-made garments and property management, he also managed to play a very prominent role in the political arena in Bangladesh. He was the Deputy Minister of Shipping in 1986 and was subsequently handed over the portfolio of ministry of Finance from (1987-88). He was elected member of Bangladesh Parliament for two consecutive terms. Currently, he is a member of the advisory council to the President of Bangladesh Awami League H.E. Sheikh Hasina.

He has also helped set up the Agribusiness Development Organization of Bangladesh (ADOB), a USAID funded project, for which he is the president; the Senior Vice - President of the Bangladesh Agro Processors' Association (BAPA) as well as participating in many other business forums.

Raquib M Fakhrul

Md. Raquib Fakhrul is a dynamic and innovative leader, managing to expand the family business to several new sectors; setting up Triumph Engineering Ltd. in partnership with the Anwar Group of Companies; GMG shipping Ltd. in partnership with the GMG Group of Companies; Munshi Enterprise Ltd. a staffing and recruitment company; and Munshi Corporation Ltd;

After joining AP is 1999 he managed to turnaround the company so that sales increased by 65 percent; as well as bringing in total quality management in the overall operations; he also got the company ISO 9002 certified; Raquib has attended various executive management courses over the period including Strategic Planning at American Management Association USA.

Deputy Managing Director

Razee M Fakhrul

Razee M. Fakhrul joined the family business in 2003 after graduating from St. Edwards University, Texas. In the US he completed an internship at Deloitte & Touche – a leading global accounting firm. After joining the business in Bangladesh he has managed to successfully restructure the Accounts and IT Departments which helped amongst other things to improve the data flow within the company.

Currently, he is Managing Director of AP and also assisting the Chairman to diversity into different business arenas. He is also looking after the groups plastic unit and has branched into the CNG (from fuel to natural gas) conversion of vehicles as part of the environmental campaign to help Bangladesh to Go Green.

Nadim Shafiqullah

Mr. Nadim Shafiqullah, who was a member of the Corporate Management Committee of the Beximco Group, was appointed CEO of Beximco Infusions Ltd.(BPL) and BEXIMCO PHARMACEUTICALS LTD (BPL) on August 29, 1999. Prior to that, Mr. Shafiqullah was assisting the Managing Director in looking after the overall business operations of the company.

Mr. Shafiqullah had spent several years in commerce and industry in the UAE and Pakistan prior to his engagement with Beximco. He has experience in industrial project implementation and startup and in raising funds from different international development and financial organizations at competitive terms and conditions. Deeply interested in human resources development, with special emphasis on teaching related initiatives, he also participates in programs being developed for upgrading vocational specialists training enablement.
